SSC CGL 2024 Recruitment Details

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued the notification for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination. This year, the recruitment drive aims to fill approximately 17,727 vacancies. The online registration process has begun on the official website ssc.gov.in. The last date to apply is July 24, 2024.

  • Application Start Date: June 24, 2024
  • Application End Date: July 24, 2024
  • Last Date for Fee Payment: July 25, 2024
  • Correction Window: August 10 to 11, 2024
  • Tier 1 Exam (Tentative): September-October 2024
  • Tier 2 Exam (Tentative): December 2024

Age Limit and Educational Qualification

The age limit varies based on the position and is set at 18-30 years, 20-30 years, 18-32 years, or 18-27 years. The cut-off date for determining the age limit is August 1, 2024. Age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Similarly, the educational qualifications required vary according to the post. Candidates are advised to refer to the official notification for detailed information.

Application Fee

The application fee for SSC CGL 2024 is ₹100. Female candidates and those belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from paying the application fee.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected through a two-tier Computer-Based Examination (CBE), followed by a document verification round. The notification includes detailed information on the exam pattern and syllabus.

After the final results are declared, document verification will be conducted by the user departments.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

  • General Category: 30%
  • OBC and EWS Candidates: 25%
  • Other Categories: 20%

The maximum permissible error percentage (minimum qualifying standard) is 20% for the General category, 25% for OBC and EWS candidates, and 30% for all other categories.
