State Government Initiates Efforts to Fill Vacant Nursing Positions in the Health Department
The Himachal Pradesh government has started efforts to fill the vacant nursing positions in the health department. A total of 200 nursing positions will be filled in model hospitals and community health centers across the state. These positions will be filled through both commission and batch-wise recruitment processes.
Currently, there are hundreds of vacant nursing positions in hospitals, with some community health centers even relying on pharmacists to cover nursing duties. The appointment of these nurses is expected to significantly alleviate the shortage.
The state government has decided to equip model hospitals in Himachal with modern medical facilities. The priority is to first provide adequate staffing for these hospitals. The process of installing equipment in these hospitals has already commenced.
Specialist doctors are being appointed in these hospitals, and now there will also be appointments for nurses and paramedical staff. The government believes that addressing the staffing shortages in model hospitals will reduce the patient load on medical colleges. A total of 68 model hospitals are to be established in the state.
Most of these hospitals have been opened in various legislative constituencies, offering facilities in gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, medicine, and surgery. Health Secretary M. Sudha stated that model hospitals and community health centers will be equipped with modern facilities. In addition to staffing, necessary equipment will be installed in these centers.
The initiative aims to enhance healthcare services and ensure that patients receive the necessary care without overwhelming the existing medical infrastructure.
